Tinerii din Moldova continuă să plece peste hotare. Aproximativ 25% dintre emigranții plecaţi în căutarea unui loc de muncă sunt tineri. Din totalul bărbaţilor plecaţi, practic 66 % sunt tineri, iar în cazul femeilor – circa 43%. Principalele cauze ale plecării sunt lipsa oportunităților și salariile mici. Patru din zece șomeri înregistraţi oficial sunt tineri (15-29 ani). În acest context, în satele Moldovei rămân doar bătrâni și copii.
Însă, avem și tineri care au decis să rămână în sate, fie să revină în localitățile de baștină, după finalizarea studiilor.
